Key Terms

This page explains the terminology used across the Kaiveluno website. Understanding these terms may help users read the platform documentation more clearly and frame enquiries more precisely.

  • Information classification

The process by which incoming information is examined and assigned to a defined category within the system. Classification is applied consistently across all information in the Kaiveluno system, regardless of its source or subject. The classification scheme determines how information is grouped, labelled, and made available through the review interface.

  • Category

A defined grouping within the Kaiveluno classification structure. Each category collects items that share relevant characteristics. Categories are labelled consistently and are accessible through the navigational structure of the review interface. The category hierarchy allows users to move between broader and narrower groupings as they examine information.

  • Review interface

The part of the Kaiveluno system through which users examine organised information. The review interface presents information in a consistent visual format, structured according to the classification scheme. It does not generate new information or alter what it displays; it provides a structured view of the information that has been classified and stored within the system.

  • Access request

A formal submission made through the enquiry form by a user who wishes to examine information held within the Kaiveluno system. Access requests are reviewed individually by the support team, who determine which sections of the system are relevant to the request. Access is not automated and is not guaranteed in response to any particular submission.

  • Enquiry form

The contact form available on the Enquiry page. It is used to submit access requests, general questions, and technical queries to the Kaiveluno support team. The form collects a name, email address, request type, and message. Submissions are delivered to the support team by email.

  • Support team

The staff at Kaiveluno Oy who review and respond to enquiries submitted through the enquiry form. The support team is also the point of contact for questions about access, the classification structure, and the content available through the system. The team may request clarification from users before providing a response to an access request.

  • System scope

The range of information types and subject areas that the Kaiveluno system is designed to handle. The system's scope is not fully defined through this public website. Users who are unsure whether their information need falls within the system's scope are encouraged to submit a general enquiry before making a formal access request.

  • Structured review

The activity of examining information through the Kaiveluno review interface. Structured review involves navigating the category hierarchy, inspecting individual items within a category, and comparing items that share classification characteristics. It is distinct from searching or browsing in an unstructured way, because the category structure guides the path through the information.

  • Platform documentation

The publicly available pages on this website that describe the Kaiveluno system. Platform documentation includes the Platform overview, the Functions page, the Platform details page, and this key terms page. The documentation is intended to help users understand the system before submitting an access request or enquiry.

  • Classification framework

The rules and criteria that determine how items are assigned to categories within the Kaiveluno system. The classification framework is applied consistently across all information in the system. It is not described in full through this public website, as it is part of the internal operational design of the platform. Users with questions about how particular types of information are classified may direct those questions to the support team.
